Before I knew it Cockney Rebel had recorded their first album, The Human Menagerie. I remember the photo shoot for the album cover. the photographer shooting polaroids to get a vibe for the design.
You can see the similarity between the polaroid above and the eventual album sleeve above. It was a way the photographer got into the groove. He snapped away on his polaroid camera for ages, throwing the pictures to the ground, until he got what he was looking for, and I picked up this picture on the day.

I also include on this page my very first diary. On the left is the page from June with the very first day I started with the band, highlighted with asterix, along with the death of my dad. Sad and joyous on the same day.
The gallery at the top of this page gives more of the diary, showing the gigs we were picking up as it got busier and busier. The band were signed by up EMI and recorded The Human Menagerie at Air London Studios. August was the release of the first single, 'Sebastian' with 'Rock and Roll Parade' on the B side.
Above, a picture of my Father. He never got to see any of this part of my life, he dropped dead of a heart attack on the very first day I became a paid member of team Cockney Rebel. I think he would have approved, but I will never know.....
