What an astonishing website (I think you undersell it!)... it might take a few hours of indulgent pleasure to go through it all... but it looks absolutely wonderful, it's a long time since I came across such a well put together multi-media site as this. How come I never knew you forty years ago - all those concerts that I missed!
Hello Richard,
WOW!
That's an amazing source of info. It's like a book that's hard to put away, and the photos and scans of documents like tour forms and tour books etc. are all amazing. Very cool.
It's very cool to read all these memories. Great stuff, a great look into what happens backstage and during the tour.
Many thanks!
Hi Richard,
The home page... I checked out the video... it's great!... the flow of it had me watching (the song choice and timing works really well) and then the pictures with the artist names on the gig tickets etc made me think wow and intrigued me.
Once I got into the site... I started at the top... and got reading at 1972. I instantly liked it, the words and writing style flow well, conversationally. It is easy to read and also (as I know you personally) I can say it puts across your personality clearly. I think that'll pull people in. They get to know about the artists through the eyes of a tour manager but also they may become a fan of your style and stories. Stuff like how you choose to take another girl to a festival because your girlfriend wasn't an "outdoor" type oozes of youth and is frank and fun. (It didn't come across as mistreating etc, a tough line to find!).
The media around it works well. It's like opening an old suitcase out of the loft and sifting stuff. I liked the gig tickets with dates, being able to click on itineraries and links here and there with music and videos. It has a fun feel. It is the core of your site, the bread and butter and I think it's come out well. (I read up until 1975 as have to crack on with other things today... though I wanted to read on... I happily would, a healthy sign eh.
Well done on the site, if I had to say one thing, I'd say I sincerely like it.
P.S. You saw Rory Gallagher live... wow! x
Hi Richard
I really love your site. Fantastic layout, lots of information, a good read, lots of private photos.
It is really nice to have all these background information about a tour.
I also listened to some of the audios. J
It really surprised me that you set up the Duran Duran tour of Australia and Japan of 1982 in such a short time.
I always thought it would take months of planning a tour like this.
Thanks.
Richard,
You're ahead of the curve, mate! ….
…. …. a head in many ways :)
Thank you. Not only is the integrity of your site in regard to artists' interests first rate, but I love this kind of autobiographical format. I say this not because I ever visit blogs or the like, but because you really have something worth putting down for history and most bloggers don't have much other than ego gratification :)
Dear Richard,
Just wanted to congratulate you on the website ( we have subscribed this morning). So far had a good look around The Cockney Rebel items..some great stuff there! We found the website having seen the video for Such A Dream on Youtube on Roualt58's channel ,where you get a credit at the end!! We remembered that you were "The Voice" on the intro of Face To Face and Between The Lines..hence we had a look on the web for your good self!. Roualt58 has some amazing items on his Youtube Channel from the very early days ( Biba's etc),obviously someone like you who was in at the start of the Rebel story?or are you Roualt58? if you are thanks for the great items filling in gaps for Rebel Fans!

Hi Richard,
Thanks so much for allowing me access to your brilliant Road Stories site. It's huge fun! I've just spent about an hour on there. The stories are immensely entertaining and the memorabilia is to die for!
You've got a winner there and I'll gladly post something on my Facebook page to rouse some interest.
